Dorothy Helen McKillop, 102, passed away Feb. 7, 2013. Survived by her daughter, Patricia Anne (Muryl) Laman; daughter-in-law, Betsy McKillop; grandchildren, Susan Laman, Amy (Stacy) Carda, Steven Laman, Kristin (Edward) Feitzinger, Kathleen (Richard) Whitt, Matthew (Janet) McKillop; and 13 great-grandchildren. Proceeded in death by her husband, Oliver McKillop in 1969, and son, Donald McKillop in 1997. She was born June 27, 1910 to Harry and Mary Coverly in Kansas City, Mo. Dorothy started the Chapter of National Secretaries Association in Kansas City, Kan. She was a member of Soroptimist International and Assistant Vice President of the Trust Department of Johnson County National Bank and Trust of Prairie Village Kan. In August 2007, she left her friends and associates in Johnson County, Kan., and moved to Villa Pueblo Retirement Center in Pueblo, Colo.
A private family burial will take place on Friday Feb 22 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Memorial Gardens. A visitation and service will be held at 10AM on Sunday Feb. 24 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS 66210.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to the Village Presbyterian Church Care and Counseling Dept. 6641 Mission Rd., Prairie Village, KS 66208.
