Dorothy D. McManness, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014.
She was born on December 3, 1923 to Gladys and Arthur Brooks in Ottawa, KS. She grew up and attended school in Ottawa.
On December 24, 1940 she married Raymond O. McManness. They made their home in Washington, DC before moving back to Overland Park in 1944.
Dorothy was a hairdresser for 38 years before retiring.
She was a member of Overland Park Assembly of God. She enjoyed quilting, but most of all being a homemaker and mother.
She is preceded in death by her husband Raymond O. McManness and parents.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon McManness, and Mindia McManness; two sisters; three grandchildren, Raymond T. McManness, H. Jourdan Howard, and Mariah B. Darbe and three great-grandchildren
Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 17, 2014 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons – Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS, 66210. A funeral service will at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 17, 2014 at the funeral home.
