In loving memory of Dorothy Dudley Reed who started her heavenly journey on January 19, 2008.

She was born on August 21, 1930 in Emporia, KS. Surviving Dorothy are Children, David Reed, Diana Watt (Greg), Doug Reed and grandchildren, Megan & David Cooley, Nick & Kaitlyn Reed; sister, Lorie Rumsey (Dick) and brother, Macon Dudley III (Susan). She was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Ann & husbands, Don F. Reed & Robert L. Webster.

Dorothy was a member of Village Presbyterian Church and Southside Christian Church. She also held memberships with Junior League of KCMO, PEO Chapter IC, Friends of Art, Mainstream Coalition, and the Board of Kenilworth Resident?s Activity Club.

She attended Atchison High School, then KU where she became a member of Delta Delta Delta and University Players. She graduated from Wichita State University.

Dorothy was Broker/Owner of Reed-Henn Realty, Inc. in Leawood, KS from 1986 to 1997, and was the first president of the Independent Real Estate Brokers Assoc. She served on the Executive Board of Sunflower Educational Television Corporation and was the first chairman of a public television auction in Wichita, KS in 1970 and 1971. She was president of Bankers Insurance Services, Inc. for ten years.

Services will be Wed., Jan. 23, 11:00 a.m. at D. W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park. Visitation will be held one hour before service at the chapel. A celebration of life will follow at 2:00 pm at Kenilworth Apt Clubhouse, 4120 W 94th Terrace, Prairie Village. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Debbie Reed Memorial Scholarship fund, c/o Southeast High School, 903 S Edgemoor St, Wichita, KS 67218 (An annual college scholarship, commemorating a student?s brotherly love, was established upon her daughter Deborah?s death in 1971), or American Cancer Society.
