Dorothy Shockley

Dorothy E. Shockley, age 100, Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2007.

Dorothy was born April 7, 1908 to David and Florence (Seville) Young in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a founding member of St. Luke?s Episcopal Church, was an active member of the William Hilton chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, member of Daughters of the American Colonists, Dames of the Court of Honor, and a lifetime member of the Century Club which supports Children?s Mercy Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Shockley. Survivors include her daughter, Dr. Florence I. Metz of Overland Park, Kansas; son, James A. Metz of Joplin, Missouri; and two grandsons, Philip and Mark Metz of Joplin, Missouri.

Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 14th at St. Luke?s Episcopal Church, 5325 Nieman Road, Shawnee, Kansas. Private inurnment in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
