Dorothy L. (Wood) Stewart, age 74, of Overland Park, KS passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2011 after a battle with cancer. She was born on July 26, 1937 in KC, KS, the daughter of Mary N. (Herod) and Elihu S. Wood. Dorothy married Robert F. Stewart on September 5, 1959 at the Village Presbyterian Church with Dr. Bob Meneilly presiding.
Dorothy was a member of the Village Presbyterian Church and was involved in P.E.O. She was also a community volunteer at KC Hospice and the American Cancer Society. Dorothy was an administrative assistant at UMB Bank in Overland Park and she enjoyed genealogy, art and pottery.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Stewart of Overland Park, KS; daughter, Aimee Stewart of Lawrence, KS; son, Cord (Kathy) Stewart of Lenexa, KS; two grandchildren, Jeb and Bailey Stewart and one brother, Steven Wood of Arvada, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Village Presbyterian Church, 6641 Mission Rd, Prairie Village, KS 66208. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to KC Hospice, 9221 Ward Parkway, KC, MO 64114.
