Mrs. Dorothy Tyler

Dorothy S. Tyler, 81, passed away Friday, March 9, 2007. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 14 at DW Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf. Friends may call on the family one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of your choice.
Although raised in Nebraska, Dorothy was born July 7, 1925 in Lake Andes, SD to Fredrick and Ada (Browning) Sovereign. She has lived in the Johnson County area for the past 46 years. She worked as a Registered Nurse in Illinois and Kansas and was very active member in Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Tyler enjoyed children, was a PTA member and volunteered at several schools. She also enjoyed sailing, camping, cooking, gardening and spending time with her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Melba Manual and brother, Erwin Sovereign.
Survivors include her husband, Donald A. Tyler; daughters, Diane Erie and Debbie Matthews; sons, David A. Tyler and his wife, Janet, and Dean F. Tyler, and his wife, Denise; grandchildren, Erica Tyler, Austin Tyler and Tyler Matthews; and sister, Marion Yeagar.
