Dorothy Ukleja

Dorothy J. Ukleja (Betanski), 83, passed away on Feb. 3, 2008, at Merrill Gardens assisted living in Austin, Texas. She was born on Nov. 28, 1924, in Chicago, Ill. She was a devoted wife and mother and joins her beloved husband of 56 years, Leonard, who passed away in 2007. She is survived by her four children, Eileen, Garland, Texas, Diane and husband Mark Casey, Overland Park, Kan., Janice, Park City, Ill., and Robert and his wife Susan, Georgetown, Texas. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lisa and Jill Casey, as well as nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. with a rosary recitation beginning at 6 p.m. at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, Kan. Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Shawnee, where she had been a member for over 20 years interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial be made to a charity of one's choice.
