E. Ila Belle Langteau

Edith Ila Belle Langteau, 93, Lenexa, passed away peacefully January 21, 2011. Russell Langteau, her husband passed away in 2004. She is survived by their four children and spouses: Jeannine (Roger) Groh of Georgetown, TX, Karen (Don) Hall of St. Augustine, FL, Larry (Carol) of Nashville, TN, and Laurie Jorgensen of Valley Center, KS. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Born to August and Alice Youngberg in Rockford, IL on July 21, 1917, Ila Belle was one of four children. Marrying Russ in 1939 after a long-distance, fun-filled courtship, the Langteau family moved to Prairie Village, in 1953 from Beloit, WI, then to Lakeview Village in 1999. Ila Belle loved and lived life to the fullest. A devoted mother and wife, she served in the UMW and choir at church. Roses and plants were a favorite pastime besides being with family. Her wonderful sense of humor will be missed by many. Services for Ila Belle will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 24 at Old Mission United Methodist Church, 5519 State Park Rd, Fairway, Ks 66205 with visitation following the service at the church.
