E. Scott (Scotty) Richards, 88, of Overland Park, KS passed away December 22, 2007 after a short illness.
Scotty was born March 23, 1919 in Kansas City, MO. He was a graduate of Paseo High School, retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after 45 years of service. Scotty was active in the Telephone Pioneers, traveling in his motor home and a charter member of Village Presbyterian Church.
Scotty was preceded in death by his wife, Mickey, married 60 years. He is survived by his three children; Jan Page of Quepos, Costa Rica, Steve Richards, Lawrence, KS and Dick Richards, Highlands Ranch, CO. He also leaves 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a lifetime of friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Kansas City Hospice House or the Diabetes Foundation c/o the funeral home.
Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00am Friday, December 28, 2007 with a funeral service to immediately follow at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. Burial will be in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
