EDITH BOYS

Edith Boys, age 92, of Overland Park, KS passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011. She was born on May 14, 1918 in Hays, KS the daughter of Dovie (Ulrich) and William Boys. She graduated from Linwood Rural High School in 1936, receiving a B.S. degree in Primary Education from Emporia State College and a Master's Degree from Kansas State Uni versity. She taught primary grades in the Shawnee Mission District from 1952 to 1983. Edith was a past President of the Pilot Club of Shawnee Mission, an international community service organization. She was also a member of Central United Methodist Church in Kansas City, MO from 1952 until her death. Surviving is her sister, Esther Dawson of Florence, OR. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Dovie Boys; her sisters, Elizabeth Boys and Margaret Joliffe and one brother, George Boys. Inurnment will be held in the Penwell Gabel Memorial Park Cemetery, Topeka, KS.
