Edith Mae Brown, age 82, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2008, at Kansas City Hospice House.
Mrs. Brown was born April 24, 1925 in Kansas City, Kansas. She was a 1943 graduate of Wyandotte High School. Edith worked for many years at Western Auto Supply Company and was a member of Oakland Park Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Harold Earl Brown, in 2001. Survivors include her son, Richard William Brown; daughter, Linda Marie Gatton; brother, Vernon Leslie; grandchildren, Jeffrey Allen Gatton, Jodi Lynn Brown, Eric Scott Gatton, Lisa Marie Vansaghi, Heather Suzanne Easley; and great-grandchildren, Kathrynn Elizabeth Gatton, Coltyn Scott Gatton, Lake Allen Gatton, Tanner Allen Easley, Carter James Easley, Claire Marie Carroll, Benjamin William Vansaghi, and Jonathan David Vansaghi.
A celebration of her life will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 29th at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Avenue. Burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will be held 3:00-4:00 p.m. Saturday at the chapel preceding the service.
