Edith Grant

Edith Loraine Grant passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Sunrise Senior Living in Overland Park, KS. in the company of her family. Loraine was born June 30, 1921, in Montrose, MO, the daughter of Robert and Adeline Cole. She spent most of her adult life in Clinton, MO where she was an active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. For many years she and her husband Ed owned and operated Ed’s Grill on the Clinton square, and after his death she spent twenty years working at Golden Valley Day Care, finally retiring at age 75. She and Ed raised six children together, and at the time of her death Loraine had thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Loraine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ed, her daughter Carolyn Kalwei, her son Jim Grant, and sons-in-law Mike St. Louis and Pat Grant. Surviving are her daughters Patty St. Louis, Kathy Jones (Gary), and Joan Grant, and her son Ron Grant.

Visitation will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church in Olathe, KS at 9:00 am on Monday, March 7, followed by a Requiem Mass at 10:00. A graveside service will be held at Englewood Cemetery in Clinton, MO, at 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas.
