Edith Schowengerdt, 81, of Lenexa, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 3, 2014.
She was born on October 3, 1932 in Corder, MO to Amelia and Melvin Rose.
Edith was a homemaker and worked various jobs including a CNA.
She was a lifelong Lutheran and was a member at the Lutheran Church of Our Saviour. Edith enjoyed her family, faith, traveling and the outdoors. Edith loved living life and helping others.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Schowengerdt, her parents, two sisters; Wanda and Mae
.
Edith is survived by, two sons, Joe (Georgianne) and David; daughter, Karen (Mike); three granddaughters, Michelle (Ryan), Bonnie (Cliff) and Vanessa; three great grandchildren, Luke, Layne and Loren (Children of Michelle); two sisters, Loraine and Linda; brother, Thomas.
A funeral service for Edith will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 9, 2014 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons – Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210. Family will receive friends at 10 a.m., Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the funeral home.
