Edward Herbert Rutter Sr., 80, Leawood, Kansas passed away November 21, 2007 at home.
Visitation will be at 10:30 Friday November 30, 2007 at Bethany Lutheran Church 9101 Lamar, Overland Park, Kansas. Memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace Hospice and Bethany Lutheran Church.
Edward was born July 9, 1942 in Tomahawk, WI. He graduated from Bradley school in WI in 1940. He entered the navy in 1941. He served as a radar technician and received an honorable discharge in 1946. He moved to Milwaukee, WI in 1946, where he began a career in retail, He retired from retail in March of 2007. He became a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in 1950. He married the love of his life, Jane Louise Kijurina on December 18, 1959. Together they had a son in 1962. The family moved to the Kansas City area in 1990, where they have made their home. His hobbies were fishing, cheering for the Packers and Nascar.
He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Eleanor Rutter. Survivors include his wife Jane Louise Rutter, stepson George Kijurina of Bonner Springs, step daughter Ellen Hubbard of Osawatomie, Kansas, and son, Edward H. Rutter Jr. of Belton, Mo. Also five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. We praise god for this wonderful man and look forward to the day, that we will all be reunited.
