E. Floy Barnes

Elizabeth Floy Richards Barnes, 98, of Overland Park, KS passed away on January 22, 2019 at Hester Care Center, Hutchinson, KS. A visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30, service 1:30, on Saturday, January 26, at Old Mission United Methodist Church, 5519 State Park Rd, Fairway, KS 66205. The burial will be at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS.

Floy was born on August 27,1920 in LaCrosse, KS and graduated from LaCrosse High School.  She attended Ft. Hays State College.  She married Guy Virgil Barnes on Sept. 14, 1940.  She graduated from Rockhurst College on May 12,1974.

She was Church Secretary for Old Mission and then became their Church Business Administrator leaving to become Executive Director of the National Assoc, of Church Business Administrators.  She also worked for Asbury and Valley View United Methodist Churches and Shawnee Mission East High School.

She was preceded in death by parents Clare and Genevieve Richard, brother Bob Richards, Husband Guy Barnes and an infant daughter.  Survivors include a daughter Kenna Frankenfeld, Son, Scott (Cynthia Ayres); 4 grandchildren - Beth Frankenfeld Akins (Christopher), Kim Frankenfeld Luke (Jeff), Jacob Barnes (Anna), Grant Barnes and 8 great grandchildren.
