went on to McDonald College - McGill

Teaching in Montreal for several years she
and her best friend Marg from college decided to

At the Harris school she met the wife of the
assistant priest at St. Chrysostom’s Church,
who invited her to attend church on Sunday.
It was there she met her husband to be Jim. He sat
up front in the choir stall and watched her as
she always sat up front. Jim invited her to join the
Gilbert and Sullivan drama group. They were
engaged during the Mikado and married right
after Iolanthe. Jim was a fabric buyer for home
furnishing at the time. They lived in Evanston, IL.
until Jim was transferred to Prairie Village in 1961.
Eileen, a homemaker raised their 3 children.
When the youngest child went to high school she went
back to teaching. She joined Merrill Lynch and
work there until she retired in 1995. During this
time her husband began his studies to become
a priest in the Episcopal Church. As the family
grew they would travel to Canada every summer.
In 55 years they never missed a summer. She loved
their cottage in Prince Edward County and will
return there and rest in St. John’s Churchyard, Wapoose.
