Elaine Carroll

Elaine (Hartman) Carroll, 81, of Overland Park, KS, died Monday, April 17, 2017.  Elaine was born on December 13, 1935 in Cherryville, NC to the late Charles F. Hartman and his wife Lou Etta (Canipe).  Elaine met her husband to be, Charles M. Carroll prior to graduating high school.  They would marry and spend 63 wonderful years’ together, building a beautiful family and creating memories for a lifetime.  Elaine had been known to say she married Charlie because he promised her a nice kitchen.  Tongue and cheek as that comment may have been Elaine was an amazing cook.  Fixing for her family and friends wonderful meals including but not limited to her famous cheesecake with cherry topping.  Elaine and Charlie moved the family many times before they were transferred for the last time to Kansas City.  For more than 30 years they have called Overland Park their home.  Elaine will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Etta.  She is survived by her loving husband Charlie; children, Stan and wife Diane, Phil and wife Brenda, and Liz Poelma and her husband Mark.  She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, siblings, Ann, Peggy and Larry, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
A brief visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11am on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Memorial Events of Johnson County 11200 Metcalf Ave. Overland Park, KS 66210.  A memorial service will begin at 11am at the same location immediately followed by a reception.
