With loved ones surrounding him, Eldon Jay Jansen, 65, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed peacefully into the welcoming arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on October 23, 2007.
He was born July 26, 1942, in Boyden, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Egbert and LaBertha (Lucy) Jansen. He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara; his loving daughter Erin; his stepchildren Keith and Anne Wiedenkeller, Leigh Ann and Scott Morris and Kurt Wiedenkeller; eight grandchildren, Ryan, Travis, Logan, Lakisha, Lee, Falecia, Evan, and Nolan; as well as his siblings, Harold Jansen, Jo Jansen Drost, and Jan Van Gelder, and several nieces and nephews.
Eldon was a Christian and very active in church, teaching Sunday school classes, leading Bible Study groups, and ministering to his friends and family. He graduated from the University of California in Sacramento. He was a Vietnam War Veteran serving four years as a Captain in the United States Air Force. Eldon was a successful CEO and entrepreneur, an expert computer programmer and a Kansas City Royals Lancer for many years. Eldon was cherished, loved and respected by so many and he is greatly missed.
A celebration of his life will take place on November 2, 2007, at 11 a.m., at First Lutheran Church at State Line Road and 63rd Street, Pastor Keith Hohly presiding. Interment will be at Johnson County Memorial Gardens following the church service.
