Elizabeth (Betty) M. Clegg , 90, most recently a resident of Overland Park, KS, passed away on March 29, 2012 . She was previously a resident of Narragansett, and Portsmouth, Rhode Island. The daughter of Henry Morrissey and Linda (Corbett) Morrissey, she was born on August 30, 1921 in Malden, MA. She was the widow of Col. (Ret) William. J. Clegg, Jr., retired Executive Director of St. Joseph's Hospital, Nashua, NH.
A graduate of Roslindale High School, Roslindale, MA, and Boston Clerical School, she worked for many years as an executive assistant at several large corporations and as a Spanish linguist. She was an avid traveler who spent many years living abroad in Germany and Puerto Rico during her late husband's military career. Following her retirement, Betty enjoyed visiting with her children, 9 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. She loved to dance and listen to music, having played both the piano and accordion. She also loved the sea and spent most of her later life near the ocean in both Rhode Island and Florida.
She is survived by her four children and two nieces: Maj. Gen. (Ret) Peter W. Clegg, of Naples, Florida, Col. (Ret) Robert H. Clegg (Jean), of Spring Grove, PA, Linda K. Grey (Mark), of Overland Park, KS, Col. (Ret) William J. Clegg, III, (Ruth) of Warwick, RI, Kathleen Houle (Ray), of Nashua, NH, and Louise Houle (Fern), of New Ipswich, NH.
