Mrs. Elizabeth Stoy
August 15, 1914 — July 12, 2008
Elizabeth Elvena Stoy, 93, Praire Village, KS passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on July 12, 2008. Visitation will be held from 11:30am to 12:30pm at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210. Funeral services will be held at 12:30pm at the chapel. Burial to follow at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
Elizabeth was born on August 15, 1914 in Bear Grove Iowa to the parents of Mamie and Guy Slater. Elizabeth was married to Charles Stoy on June 23, 1935. They were blessed with two boys. While raising her boys and caring for her husband she was also involved in the TTT?s and many other philanthropic organizations. Elizabeth and Charles had an extensive social life and enjoyed wonderful lifelong friendships. Saturday night dancing was a favorite activity.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and sister. She is survived by her sons, Richard and his wife Lenora of Overland Park and Robert and his wife Mary of Germantown TN. Elizabeth was grandmother to six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
