Ella Marie (Reeves) Olson, 88, passed away Feb. 15, 2014 at Life Care Center of Osawatomie, Kansas surrounded by her family.
Ella Marie was born to Lee and Mabel Reeves on Dec. 30, 1925 in Ralston, NE. She graduated from Omaha Tech High School in 1943, after which she attended Northwestern Bible College in Minneapolis, MN. Following graduation from college she worked as a missionary at Go Ye Mission in Tahlequah, OK. She also worked for the Douglas County Health Department in Omaha, NE during which time she met her husband to be.
Ella Marie married Richard C. Olson, from Carpenter, IA June 4, 1951 in Omaha, NE. To this union were added 6 children.
Ella Marie worked in the Pathology department at K U Medical Center for 26 years.
Ella Marie loved sharing the Gospel with others. She taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years and enjoyed teaching children about Jesus. She also enjoyed reading, especially the Bible. She loved her family and praying for others.
Ella Marie was preceded in death by her Mother and Father and an infant brother, Sonny Jim. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard C., of Osawatomie, KS; her brother Donald V. Reeves of Sioux Falls, SD; her sister Elva Eileen Dunlap of Belton, MO.; 6 Children: Nancy Daum of Independence, MO; Wanda Woolsey (David) of Warsaw, MO.; Marjene Locke ( Ron) of Belton, MO; Loretta Spotts (Dan) of Colorado Springs, CO; Carl Olson of Paola, KS; Janice Menefee (Randy) of Sioux Falls, SD; 17 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 at the First Baptist Church, 207 E. Wea, Paola, KS 66071. Visitation at 9:00 a.m. before service.
