Elsie Marie Jennings, age 88, Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at her daughter?s home in Colleyville, Texas.
Mrs. Jennings was born in Bourbon County, Kansas near Ft. Scott, the daughter of Jess and Addie Stradley. She married George Herbert Jennings December 4, 1938 and moved to Overland Park, Kansas in 1958. Elsie was a member of Overland Park Christian Church and retired in April 1986 as a supervisor from Johnson County Finance Department.
Her husband, George Herbert Jennings preceded her in death in 1991. Survivors include two daughters, Jean Kaye Cook of Orlando, Florida and Linda Marie Shea of Colleyville, Texas; a sister, Opal McHenry of Overland Park, Kansas; brother, James Raymond Stradley of Ft. Scott, Kansas; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 31st at D. W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kansas. A gathering of family and friends will be held 3:00 ? 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 2nd at Uniontown Cemetery, Uniontown, Kansas.
