Mr. Emery Zanagal

Emery Zanagal, 75, passed away Wednesday February 3, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospital. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00pm Wednesday February 10th at the Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf.  Memorial contributions in memory of Emery may be made to St. Joseph Hospital, 1000 Carondelet Drive, Kansas City, MO or to the American Kidney Foundation, 6405 Metcalf Ave. Suite 204, Mission, Kansas 66202 Emery was born in Hungary and came to America at the age of 22 when he was sponsored by a Presbyterian minister in Newton, Iowa.  He eventually found his way to Kansas City where he worked for the Mercedes Dealership before opening his own company, Star Motors, LTD.  Emery was a generous man who helped anyone he could.  He loved to travel and on one particular cruise he met the love of his life Juanita Keeslar and they were soon married and would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in March.  Emery also enjoyed playing golf and cards in his spare time.   He had a passion for food where he enjoyed cooking and eating crab legs with his good friend Thomas.  Emery is survived by his wife, Juanita, a daughter, Anika Zanagal and one grandson, Mate Torok; Juanita's sisters: Mary Skaggs, June and Jim Wilkes, and Linda and Ron Underwood.
