Emma Rose Burdick was born on Monday, August 22nd, 2011 at 2:25 pm to parents Branden and Alexis Burdick at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, KS. She weighed a precious 2 pounds, 7.3 ounces and was 15 inches long.
Emma's parents, older sisters - Adya (6) and Clara (4), grandparents - Paul Wenske & Nancy Meis and Mary Burdick, extended family and friends were blessed with an amazing 2 hours with her before she went to meet her Papa Burdick, Grandpa Wenske, and Great Aunt Emma in Jesus' tender loving arms at 4:25 pm. Emma surprised her parents and family with beautiful cries, darling coos in daddy's arms, rocking to lullabies with her mommy and soft cuddling with her older sisters. She was alert and interactive with her family until the very end of her life. Alexis and Branden were so proud of their little Emma's strength and beauty.
"She taught us that love has no end, miracles do happen, and that the strength and love of a community can surprise in wonderfully unexpected ways."
A memorial service will be held this Saturday, August 27th, 2011 at 1 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church (Nall & SM Pkwy). All family and friends are invited to remember Emma Rose and the lessons of love that she brought in her short time with us.
