Emma ?Retta? Corazin, age 85, Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2006 at Kansas City Hospice House.
Retta was born May 9, 1921 to William and Maud (Handy) Price in Independence, Missouri. Two of the most important things in Retta?s life were her family and serving the Lord. After a (very) brief courtship, she was joined in marriage to Frank Corazin on October 23, 1938. They had been married 54 years when Frank preceded her in death in 1991.
Retta is survived by her children and their spouses, Sandra & Sim Yeomans, Michael & Priscilla Corazin, Frank Jr. & Lyn Corazin, Dian & Gaylord Robinson; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Retta?s life will be 12:00 noon Saturday, January 13th at D. W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf. Private interment in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will be held 6:30 ? 8:00 p.m. Friday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Retta?s name be made to Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall, Kansas City, Missouri 64145.
