Emma Ruth Humphrey, 84, died Friday, September 26, 2008 at Kingswood Senior Living Center, Kansas City, MO. Graveside services will be held Tuesday September 30 at 11:30 AM in Iberia, MO with burial in the Iberia Cemetery.
Ruth was born on June 24, 1924 in Iberia, MO to Clate and Sadie (Kinder) Condra. She attended Iberia Junior Academy and was a graduate of Drury University. She taught in the Springfield, MO school district for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma and Kappa Kappa Iota professional sororities. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include her two children, Larry Humphrey (Cheryl) of Westfield, MA, and Linda Hussey (Bill) of Overland Park, KS and grandchildren Meridith Salois (Brian) of Easthampton, MA, Melinda Humphrey of Chittenden, VT, Michael Humphrey of Los Angeles, CA, Drew Hussey of Lawrence, KS, Lauren Hussey of Overland Park, KS, and great-granddaughter Sadie Salois. She is also survived by two sisters Imogene Bilyeu (Gene) and Luella Bielicke of St. Louis, MO and two brothers Garrett Condra of Miami, FL and Roger Condra of Orlando, FL. Other survivors include four sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Maurice Henry Humphrey and brother Kenneth Condra.
