Eula Mae Pope

Eula Mae Pope, 91, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away peacefully and with dignity at Shawnee Mission Medical Center on Thursday, March 22, 2018. She was attended by her family as she left this life to join her husband, Lloyd, in eternal glory. Eula Mae was born in Many, Louisiana on April 8, 1926 to James Morvan and Corrine (Nina) Flores. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Paul Pope on March 9, 2014. Eula Mae graduated from Many High School and moved to New Orleans, Louisiana soon afterwards. In 1950, she was introduced to her future husband Lloyd and they were inseparable until his death in 2014.

Lloyd and Eula Mae were married in New Orleans, Louisiana on August 19, 1951 and they walked through life hand-in-hand until his passing. Eula Mae was very active in the PTA, the neighborhood garden club, civic and benevolent organizations as well as being an avid bowler.

Eula Mae is survived by her sons, Dr. Rick and Dr. Ron; her daughter-in-law, Barbara; her grandchildren: Christopher, Robert John, Harley and Jett; Christopher’s wife, Pamela and her great-granddaughter, Sadie Mae Pope. She additionally leaves many friends and acquaintances.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 31 from 10 – 11 AM with memorial service at 11 AM at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, Kansas 66210. Interment to follow at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
