Evelyn F. Richardson, age 85, of Raymore, MO passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2011. She was born on May 10, 1926 in KC, MO the daughter of Hattie (Morris) and Lafayette C. McCoy. Evelyn married Gerald A. Richardson on April 3, 1948. He preceded her in death.
Evelyn was known for her hours of volunteering at the Salvation Army and also nursing homes, often visiting during the holidays. She did this for 23 years. She also enjoyed crafts, pottery and ceramics. She was a member of the Salvation Army Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Charlene O’Brien (Joe) and Debra Grant; son, Gerald (Patricia) Richardson; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister in law, Barbara McCoy. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter and son in law, Cheryl and Bob Rhoads; daughter Dorothea Martin; siblings, Zinea Bell McCoy, Ina Rose McCoy, Morris Wesley McCoy, Erma Ruth Gerkin and Wilber Kenneth McCoy.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 6 at the Salvation Army, 6111 E. 129th St, Grandview, MO 64138. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Burial will be held in the Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 6111 E. 129th St, Grandview, MO 64138.
