Ms. Faye Newson

Faye Lucille Newson, 86, went to be with our Lord July 30, 2013. Lucille was born September 12, 1926 in Monticello, KS, the daughter of William David Cox and Opal May Cox. Lucille was the oldest child and therefore helped raise her 5 younger siblings. As she grew older, she caught the eye of one of the boys next door. She married that boy, Walter Eugene "Gene" Newson, on Dec. 25, 1943. They had three sons; Walter Eugene "Gene" Newson Jr., Gary Dean Newson and Michael "Mike" Leon Newson. Lucille lived in Olathe, KS for most of her life and worked odd jobs off and on but for the most part was a stay at home mom and wife. After her husband, who was lovingly referred to as Shorty, passed away in 1993 she was amazingly able to stay in her home for almost 19 years.
In later years, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sisters; Betty Nasbe, Margie Wright and Sarah Scheidt, brother; Billy Cox and granddaughter; Carrie Newson.
Lucille is survived by her sons; Gene Newson, Gary Newson, Mike (Lynette) Newson, grandchildren; Mike Newson Jr. and Courtney (Brian) Hoedl, great grandchildren; Brileigh, Lilly and Chloe Hoedl, and sister; Carolyn Clear.

Burial for Lucille will take place immediately following services at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens 13901 Blackbob Road, Olathe, Kansas 66062.
