Fern Webber, 92, Overland Park, passed away Tuesday April 14, 2020. A private family burial will be held at Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Due to the COVID 19 situation, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Fern was born in Jamesport, Missouri to Omer Lynn Hunt and Repha Ferril Hunt on November 23, 1927. She grew up in Cameron, Missouri.
Fern wore many hats in her life. She was a pre-arrangement counselor for D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Funeral Homes and Cemeteries in the Kansas City area and later for the Johnson and Son Funeral Home in Hutchinson, Kansas. She was a Property Manager for 32 years and was a certified welder along with being a hair stylist in her early life. In her free time she enjoyed crocheting.
She was a member of the Lenexa Baptist Church where she enjoyed her friends in fellowship. She enjoyed being around her family and friends.
Fern was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth G. Webber; son, David E. Clark, Jr.; grandsons: Michael Voyles, Dalton Edwards and Jessie Lamison; brother, Clancy Hunt and sister, Helen James.
She is survived by her brother, Paul M. Hunt; her children: Cheryl Lafferty, Carol Ann Hirsh, Martin Wayne Haley, James E. Pryor, Harold E. Hoffer, Paul Lamison, Dennis L. Edwards and Richard Bennett; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Private family entombment at Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Memorial Contributions in memory of Fern may be given to the Johnson County Human Services/Home Services or Meals on Wheels, Catholic Charities or Crossroads Hospice
