Flora “Flo” G. Gray, 92, passed away Sunday September 3, 2017 at the Garden Terrace with her family by her side. Flo was born August 19, 1925 in Rienzi, Mississippi to John Thomas Holmes and Flora Elena (Estes) Holmes. She was baptized in 1939 in Mr. Stutts Pond and was a member of the Church of Christ for 50 years. She married Jamie W. Gray on September 11, 1944 and to this union were born four children: Jamie, Linda, Sandi and Rick. Flo was a homemaker all her life and her family was the most important thing to her. She put her family’s needs first even if it meant she had to sacrifice. After her children were raised she discovered she had a talent for painting and painted many beautiful art pieces that her family cherishes to this day. She also was a hair stylist and cake decorator as she made many cakes for her family and friends throughout the years. Flo was preceded in death by her mom and dad, brothers: C.T. Holmes, Vester Holmes, Early Holmes and Viletius Holmes; and one sister, Arminda Gray; Husband, Jamie W. Gray and a son, Jamie D. Gray. She is survived by three children: Linda Sloan, Sandi Bucher and her ex-husband, Forrest, Rick Gray and his wife Jackie; Grandchildren: Jeff Gray, Ashley Sloan, Jenny Gray, Amanda Bucher, Chris Gray, and Katie Gray; Great-Grandkids: Jeremy Gray, Travis Gray, Trevor Gray and Justice Gray. Memorial Contributions in memory of Flo may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
