Florence Sinnett, known as Mimi to many, shared her final bits of advice and love with the members of her family shortly before she passed away on June 21, 2008 at St. Luke?s South Hospital.
Florence was born in Kremlin, Oklahoma to Arthur and Ethel Smith. As a young adult she moved to the Kansas City area where she worked at Lake City WWII ammunition plant, Kreesge?s, Hallmark and Ferris Burns as an office manager until her retirement. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and fan, perhaps even an ?unofficial ?coach, of her grandchildren?s teams as well as the Kansas Jayhawks. Florence was a member of the Village Presbyterian Church since 1954.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 bothers and 2 sisters. Surviving family members she cherished dearly include her sister Eva Burke of Enid, OK., daughter Charlene Stubbs (Jack) of Lees Summit, son Bud Sinnett (Marian) of Chesterfield MO., grandchildren Barbara Selzer (Jim) of Lees Summit, Robin Kraft (John), of Wichita, KS., Jim Phillips (Cathy) of Overland Park and Jeff Sinnett (Melissa) of Boston, MA., as well as 8, soon to be 9, great grandchildren.
A private family service will be held at the Village Presbyterian Church.
The family requests donations to the Village Presbyterian Church Food Pantry ministry in her name in lieu of flowers.
