Mr. Floyd Bass

Floyd Harold Bass, 89, Lenexa, KS, died Monday, October 19, 2009 at Lakeview Village. He was born in Springfield, Missouri and moved to Overland Park in 1955. Harold was a sheet metal worker for Truog Nichols, Inc., and Environmental Mechanical Contractors before he retired in 1983. He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Union, Local #2. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II and was an active member of Prairie Baptist Church in Prairie Village, KS for over 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Fenley and his father, Doras Bass; two brothers, Bill & Ted Bass; step-sister, Gloria Sanders; and two grandsons, Allan & Curtis Camp. He is survived by his wife, Mary Emma Bass; son, Steve Bass of Lenexa, KS; daughters, Sharon Camp of Lenexa, KS and Debbie Gomer of Merriam, KS; five grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6:30-7:30 p.m., Monday, October 26 at D.W. Newcomers Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 27 at Prairie Baptist Church, 7416 Roe Avenue, Prairie Village. Memorial contributions can be made to Prairie Baptist Church or Lakeview Village Foundation.
