Floyd P. Perkins, age 81, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2007.
Floyd was born March 10, 1926, in Topeka, Kansas, to Floyd and Claire Perkins. He graduated from Washburn University with a BA degree in accounting. For 28 years, he worked as an accountant at Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Corporation. After retiring, he worked for 16 years in the Johnson County Community College Audio Visual department. Floyd served in the U.S. Army 358th Air Service Group in WW II. He was a member of the VFW, Masons, and volunteered at Johnson County Historical Museum. Floyd enjoyed trains, ham radio (KC0CLR), traveling and camping.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 53 years, Carolyn; two daughters, Suzanne Allen and Kelly Perkins; son Michael Perkins, and five grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 4, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf. Memorial contributions may be given to the Salvation Army or Nature Conservancy.
