Frances was born January 27, 1922 in Kansas City, MO. Fran was taken at about 6 months of age to an orphanage. She spent several years with foster parents in Arkansas and Nebraska.

Fran married Robert Edward Burch in December 1942. They lived in the San Diego area with their twin sons, Robert and William until shortly after WWII then moved to Illinois. After a few years in the Chicago area, Fran and R.E. moved to Overland Park in 1952.
