Frances Eileen Hendrickson, 88, died at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2007.

Mrs. Hendrickson was born July 25, 1919 in Bonaparte, IA, to Clarence Marshall Shearer and Kathryn Elizabeth Rodgers Shearer. She was married to Merle D. Hendrickson on July 3, 1940 in Carthage, MO. Merle died Feb. 11, 1998. Frances graduated from Booneville, MO, High School in 1937 and lived in Carthage, Kansas city, Golden City and Springfield, MO, before moving to Overland Park, KS. She enjoyed Scrabble, card games, crossword puzzles and making quilts. She also enjoyed singing and had a beautiful singing voice.

Survivors include 2 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Jerry D. Hendrickson and wife Joan of San Benito, TX, Phil Hendrickson and wife Jeanne of Overland Park, KS, 6 grandchildren, Jill Lohmeier, Phillip, Casey, Doug, Matthew and Andrew Hendrickson, 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, 3 brothers, Floyd, Bud and Jack Shearer, 2 sisters; Mildred Cowherd and Colleen Meyers.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007 at the Presbyterian Church of Stanley at 14895 Antioch Road, Overland Park, KS, where she was a member. Rev. Eric Laverentz will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Friday at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. Burial will be Saturday at Fasken Cemetery, east of Carthage, MO, with a brief service at 3 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church of Stanley (PCOS) Capital Fund, 14895 Antioch Rd., Overland Park, KS.
