Frances Smith

Frances M. Smith, age 93, of Overland Park, KS passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2011. She was born on February 10, 1918 in Great Bend, KS, the daughter of Sibyl I. (Stout) and William B. Hitch. Frances married Albert M. Smith on August 21, 1939. She was a homemaker and helper to him for over 31 years. After being a homemaker, she worked for General Casualty and retired from there in 1985. She has been a member of the First Baptist Church in Overland Park since 1952.

Survivors include her daughter, Mauriece Smith of Ballwin, MO; son, William M. Smith (Dana) of Gladstone, MO; sisters, Mary Leuzinger of Stockton, MO and Louise Dirksen of Hutchinson, KS; brother, J.W. Hitch (Sue) of Corona, CA; grandchildren, Jason Long, Justin Long and Jared Smith; 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, October 31, 2011 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Memorial contributions may be made to The First Baptist Church, 8200 W 96th St, Overland Park, KS 66212.
