Franklin Youngs West (Frank), 99, Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully November 4, 2016 after a brief and sudden illness.
Frank was born in Higginsville, MO on January 4, 1917 to Alva L. Youngs and Herbert C. West.
Frank was blessed to be married 71 years to his surviving wife Ernestine Katherine McCraw West. He is also survived by his son Gary, his wife Mary Ann and their son Ryan West of Overland Park, KS, daughter Judy Crosson of Bend, OR, and many loving and attentive nieces and nephews.
He was a member of Red Bridge United Methodist Church. Franks work life was in the garment industry in Kansas City at Western Binding and Pad, CO. He enjoyed visiting family and friends and until recently he enjoyed visiting new friends at John Knox Village of Lees Summit, MO where he and Ernestine lived independently for 10 years. They moved into the Heritage of Overland Park, KS just 4 months ago.
There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, November 8 at 10AM at Floral Hills Cemetery,7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., OP, KS.
