Frank Zawojski, Jr., 74, passed away on April 18, 2023 in Overland Park, KS. He was born to Frank Zawojski and Emma (Deutsch) Zawojski on January 6, 1949 in Pittsburgh, PA.
After graduating from North Hills High School in Pittsburgh, he went on to get a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Dayton, where he was an active and proud member of the RHO Fraternity. While at Dayton, he met his wife, Cynthia Beams. They were married in 1971 and moved to the Kansas City area in 1979. They raised their children, Darren and Amber, in Overland Park. Frank worked for Management Recruiters, Mid America Soccer Association, Upper 90 Sports, and retired from Global Connections after 28 years, in 2019. His coworkers remember him as a person filled with integrity, responsibility, and a “man for all seasons”.
Frank was a man of many projects and loved the opportunity to get outside. His favorite projects were his house and backyard waterfall. He enjoyed summer bike rides and taking in nature along the way. Frank and Cynthia loved to travel and take in the local cuisine. Their favorite destinations were Door County (WI), Cape May (NJ), Florida, Pennsylvania, and visiting their family in Colorado.
Frank was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Carlin. Frank is survived by his loving wife Cynthia, son Darren, daughter Amber Lawson, son-in-law Bob Lawson, and their two loving grandchildren Lucy Lawson (8) and Hank Lawson (3).
The family will receive friends for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 29th 2023 from 3:00-7:00 PM at 6529 W 106th Street, Overland Park, KS 66212.
