Dr. Farrokh "Frank" Shahrokhi, age 77, of Leawood, KS passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2014. A Memorial service will be held at 11 am on Monday, January 20, 2014 at Leawood Presbyterian Church, 2715 W 83rd St, Leawood, KS, with visitation beginning one hour prior. Inurnment will be at a later date in Caldwell, KS. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Leawood Presbyterian Church in honor of the next generation worship and arts ministry.
Frank was born on November 16, 1936 in Tehran, Iran. He came to the United States in December of 1954 and began his studies in Coffeyville, KS. Frank earned a BS from the University of Kansas, as well as a MS and PHD in Chemistry from the University of Missouri. He worked in the field of Chemistry for 20 years, including working for Marion Laboratories. Frank went on to open his own printing business in Olathe, Advance Printing, which he owned for more than thirty years. He was a Scoutmaster of Troup 10 and a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. Frank served his church community at Leawood Presbyterian faithfully for over 35 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents and wife of 47 years, Shirley Kay Shahrokhi. Survivors include his children; Paul and wife Janet Shahrokhi, Michael Shahrokhi, and Mary and husband Sean Devlin. Grandchildren; Zachary, Trevor, and Andrew Shahrokhi and Christopher and William Devlin. Brothers; Firouz Shahrokhi of Nashville, TN and Farshid Shahrokhi of Lynchburg, VA of which he had a close relationship with.
