Fred Dellett, Jr.

Fred Victor Dellett Jr, 80, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 PM with service to follow at 2 PM on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Shawnee United Methodist Church, 10700 Johnson Dr, Shawnee, KS.

Fred was born on October 11, 1937 in Great Bend, KS to Grace and Fred V. Dellett, Sr. He attended high school in Garfield, KS and received his BS in mechanical engineering from Kansas State University in 1960. There, he was a member of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity. He became a licensed professional engineer in 1968. Fred then received his MBA at Rockhurst University in the Executive Fellows Program in 1981. Fred married Judith Pringle in 1960 and bore 2 sons, Brian and Neal.

Fred held various high positions throughout his career like VP and general manager of standard products pump division at Fairbanks Morse in Kansas City, KS, President of Kansas Instruments in Council Grove, KS and President and CEO at Peterson Machine Tool in Kansas City, KS.

He was a member of Shawnee United Methodist Church and President of Wheatley Home Owners Association. Fred was a member in both the President’s Club and Ahearn Club at KSU, was President of the Water Systems Council, and received an AERA recognition.

Fred is survived by his wife, Judy; sons, Brian (Linda) and Neal (Staci); grandchildren, Andrew, Caroline, Alexander, Katherine, and Eric.
