Freda N. Whitaker, 81, of Overland Park, Kan., passed away July 21, 2016. She was born Jan. 5, 1935, in Altamont, Kan. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 27th from 6 to 8 p.m. with memorial services at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 28th both at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park. KS.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Whitaker. She is survived by a son, David Whitaker, a daughter, Barbara Whitaker, son-in-law Rick Lyman and two granddaughters, Katherine and Laura Lyman. She spent most of her career in banking before retiring from Midwest Trust Co., where she was a vice president and a founder. She was an active member of P.E.O. and Alpha Gamma Delta alumnae. She loved quilting, jewelry making, beading and traveling. Donations to the American Heart Association.
