Fredie Lloyd Langston, age 84, passed away Friday, July 20, 2012. Funeral services will be held at Salem Lutheran Church, 9135 Haskins on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 11 am with visitation beginning one hour prior. Burial will follow in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
Fredie was born on Sept. 7, 1927 in Mountain Grove, Missouri. He was a hard worker, devoted family man and Boy Scout leader. Fredie was also a World War II veteran. He was a member of the American Legion, a lifetime member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Carpenter's Local #714, and a long time member of Salem Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepdad, Mildred and Ed Royal and his wife of 61 years, Leona Langston.
Survivors include his 3 children, Karen (Lloyd) Schaefer, Sharen (R. Scott) Bowers and Donald (Becky) Langston; 7 grandchildren, Thad (Ashley) Schaefer, Dawn (Matt) Steiner, Rachel Bowers (Justin) Porter, Scott Bowers and Max, Luke and Drew Langston; 4 great grandchildren, Samuel Schaefer and Jackson, Claire, and William Langston Steiner, and beloved pal, John Hetherington.
