G. Gregory Halstead (Greg), 71, Overland Park KS, passed away Sunday July 15, 2012 from Acute Leukemia. He was surrounded by his loved ones. The memorial service will be held on Thursday July 19th 2:00pm at Valley View United Methodist Church, 8412 W 95th St. Overland Park, KS.
Greg was born on September 6, 1940 in Cleveland Ohio. He was best known for bringing Jardine's Jazz Club to Kansas City with his wife Kathy in 1992. He was one of the founders of the Kansas City Originals Restaurant Association. Greg was preceded in death by his mother Leslie (Schneider) Halstead and Step Father Jack Halstead.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathy (Horn) Halstead; his daughters Megan Streight and Katie Vavak and husband Dave; his beloved Grandchildren who brought joy to his life, Sylvie Streight (12), Bennett Vavak (12) and Gracie Vavak (9); sister Sally Tuttle and husband Jerry; extended family and countless friends.
