Dr. G. Brian Palmer , 71, of Leawood KS passed away on March 15, 2012. Dr. Palmer had been suffering from depression for the past several years. Visitation will be Wednesday March 21, 5-7 pm. A Memorial service will be on Thursday March 22, 2 pm., both at DW Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel. Brian had been a dentist for 35 years in Kansas City, retiring in 2005. He was born June 30, 1940 in Winnipeg, Canada. He received a football scholarship to Kansas University and upon graduation played professional football in Canada before entering dental school at UMKC. His passions were ballroom dancing, scuba diving, biking, skiing, reseaching, traveling and walking the beaches of the world. Brian was a loving husband and a dedicated dentist and has placed his research of 35 years on a website to help those searching for answers. Following his retirement he lectured internationally on this research. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Overland Park, Ks, the American, Midwestern, and Greater KC Dental Assns., Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and a Medical Associate of LaLeche League International. He was a volunteer Vol-Star usher for the Performing Arts Series at JCCC. He loved animals and volunteered for a time for Wayside Waifs. Brian is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Shirley, a brother Bruce, two nieces, Karen and Peggy Palmer and one nephew Bart Palmer, a great niece and nephew, all of Winnipeg, Canada.
