Garland Johnson of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on April 5 at the age of 90. Garland was born in Westfork, Arkansas on November 28, 1926 to the late Byrd M. Johnson and Minnie Pearl (Wiles) Johnson of Arkansas. Garland is survived by his sons Carl A. Johnson and Danny M. Johnson. He will also be greatly missed by his daughter-in-law Cindy L. Johnson, Carl's wife, whose heart he touched in a meaningful way. Garland was a very devoted grandfather to Ryan Johnson and Kalen Johnson. Ryan and grandpa spent many hours together reading books, watching movies, and listening to gospel music. Garland was very proud of his family and and their accomplishments. He had wall-to-wall pictures from birth to current day of family prominently displayed in his home.
Garland was employed in a variety of positions including as a sheet metal worker for Boeing and
as a pipe fitter for the Santa Fe Railroad. He enjoyed attending family events, going to Church, shopping, fishing, and reading.
There will be private services for the family.
