Garry Dial, 76, of Overland Park, KS, passed away on Monday, June 3rd. He was born on August 8, 1947 in Potosi, KS to adoptive parents James & Doris Dial.
Garry was Staff Sergeant in the Air Force during the Vietnam war stationed in Seoul, Korea.
After returning he spent 27 years advancing in the Retail industry and was named Man of the Year for his accomplishments in an industry related publication. After retail he moved into insurance and financial management until retirement.
He was known for his smile, laugh, sense of humor, zest for life and the love he gave to family and friends. He loved golfing and participating in the local Abdallah Shrine chapter. In 2016 he was named Illustrious Sir Garry Dial and served as Potentate with his wife.
Garry is survived by wife Marta who together would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on June 6. Daughter Dana Rewalt, her husband Al and grandchildren Alexis, Cailee and AJ. Daughter Alicia Ascheman, husband Dave and granddaughters Lily and Claire. Cousin Linda Wilson and husband Lafe. Biological half sisters Sue Mellenbruch and Sandy King and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by Jim and Doris Dial.
No services at this time as per his wish.
A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Abdallah Shrine an organization close to Garry’s heart.
Garry will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
