Gary Alan Boyd, 63, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Kansas City Hospice House.
Gary was born March 15, 1950, in Kansas City, MO, to William and Jessie Lee Boyd. He grew up in Overland Park, KS and graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School and Pittsburg State University with a bachelor's degree in Auto Technology. Gary worked for several auto dealerships in Kansas City and then worked for Hy-Vee for 17 years. He loved gardening, being outdoors, watching NASCAR and the KU Jayhawks.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Gary is survived by his mother; wife of 33 years, Therese; daughter, Jennifer; and his soon to be grandson, Jackson.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons – Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS. A private family graveside service will be held at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens, 23215 W 75th St, Shawnee, KS 66227.
