Gary C. Prinds, age 65, of Overland Park, KS entered into peace on July 27, 2011. He was born on October 31, 1945, in Chicago, IL, the son of Esther (Morris) and Harry Prinds. Gary graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School in 1963, served in the Navy for 4 years including time spent in Vietnam. He was a longtime resident of Overland Park and was employed by KCPL for 36 years as a Power Systems Supervisor. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving wife, Julianne; daughters, Karly of KC, MO, Kelley (Josh) Diggs of Overland Park, KS and Holly (Josh) Brewington of Gardner, KS; mother, Esther Prinds of Overland Park; brother, Jerry and wife Edith of Louisburg, KS; grandchildren Bella and Isaac; Noah, Allie, and Zachary Brewington; nephew Kevan and wife Manda; and other numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other close family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 11:00-1:00 at D.W. Newcomer’s Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. D.W. A celebration of Gary’s life will immediately follow; held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, August 1, 2011 at Burial to follow will be held in the Montecello Union Cemetery 75th St and Gleason Rd, Shawnee KS. Near to Gary was CCVI, in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s Center for the Visually Impaired, 3101 Main St, KC, MO 64111.
