Gaylord Leamon

November 25, 1918 — October 28, 2008

G. Fritz Leamon was born November 25, 1918. He graduated from Paseo High School and then attended K. C. Junior College. He worked as a surveyor until enlisting in the Army Air Corps, became a pilot and flew in the European Theatre for 18 months. In 1946, he started a flying service specializing in the aerial inspection of pipe lines, and was one of the pioneers in that field, doing the air patrol for several major pipe line companies. His airplanes and helicopters were occasionally called on for mercy missions. He was an Eagle Scout and his interests included canoeing, camping, motor cycling, RVing and aviation. He was a member of the Village Presbyterian Church, the Kansas City Hanger of Quiet Birdman and the Ox 5 Club.

He will be missed by his loving wife, Billie; his sister, Betty Kuhlenberg and many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the City Union Mission would appreciate your thoughtfulness.

Funeral service will be Monday, November 3 at 10am at D. W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the chapel. Burial to follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Stanley, KS.
